Joachim Hellmich: "The clubs have to show their best performance" is the basic idea says projektmanager of the German Segel-Bundesliga (DSBL) GmbH. The most successful sailings clubs compete against each other for a whole season in several events in the SAILING Champions League. Each club sets up a team with its best sailors. To win the title and the sought-after trophy, the clubs have to show their best performance. Short races, standardized boats, a standardized course and a competition between the best and prestigious sailing clubs in the world guarantee sailing as its best! The idea behind the SAILING Champions League is simple: The cup of the national champions. The most successful clubs of the countries with a National Sailing League are competing against each other in several events during the year. At the end the winning club is may call itself, the “Best Sailing Club of the Year”. As an active player, Norbert Wagner has won almost everything that can be gained in regattasport - the coronation was the participation in the Olympic Games in Munich. Even the 80-year-old is no longer racing regattas, but as a coach he is not less successful. And he sends the youngest team of the league to the start, which is important to him, youth work is his hobby. ... When team manager Mike Tarabocchia asked him if he wanted to support him as a coach, one thing was clear for Wagner: "It was a prerequisite for a youth and a junior concept," he did not want to coach experienced sailors, but talents "to this kind of regattasport to the be bound to the club."

Kay Niederfahrenhorst(MYC): "Tactical Sailing makes the complexity of the wind for the regatta sport understandable for everyone in only a few hours. Many people think that the other boats determine success or failure in a regatta, but the real “enemy” is the wind, which never blows constantly.” Kay is an experienced and very successful sailor of Opti, 420, 470, 49er, Streamline H-boat and J/70 as helmsman. Kay and his crew startet for the Sailing Champions League as member of Munich Yacht Club (MYC).
