Successful German FD sailor, 1976 Olympic Champion

Joerg Diesch has been an active regatta sailor since 1965, and together with his brother Eckart as crewmember, was German champion multiple times in different classes in European and World Championships, as well as the 1976 Olympic champion in the flying Dutchman (Kingston). In 1986 they became world champions in this class*. The Diesch brothers come from a sailing family and were successful even as kids and juniors. Joerg Diesch completed medical school in 1978. Today, he lives in Kiel and has an orthopedic praxis; www.fit-and-sail.de .
