Highly recommended book by Tilo Schnekenburger: Geometric tools for strategy and tactics in regatta sailing. In regatta sailing, course lines, bearings, wind shifts, distances, upwind angles and areas play a crucial role. The strategy and tactics of this sport are largely determined by geometric dimensions. “Foiling wings” are completely new; they are so fast on the downwind course that they can even overtake gusts of wind. One could even say that geometry represents the blueprint of racing sailing.
