Olympia, Champioships and Cups

Tactical Sailing reports on the championships in various countries and on all participants in the menu items below. Here is a summary of the German participants.

The Optimist World Championship in Slovenia was a particularly memorable experience for Jonny Seekamp, who achieved 8th place – a fantastic result – out of more than 200 international participants. Henry-Alexander Hübener finished 25th. A great success for the German team! Jonny frequently used TacticalSailing and learned important tactical tips. With focused and tactically sound races, he solidified his position among the world's elite.
The Olympics in Marseille with Simon Diesch and Anna Markfort in the 470 class and in Tokyo with Tina Lutz and Sanni Beucke in the 49er class were also major events for the Tactical Sailing team. We have also incorporated the 470 and 49er boats into the Tactical Sailing program, so that tactical intricacies can be practiced on land as well.
Luise Wanser and Philipp Autenrieth won the 470 World Championship in Israel, a dominant performance against 60 teams from 20 countries, securing the title a day before the final. Luise: "We won the 470 World Championship in Israel in 2022! It feels magical!"
Philipp: "Winning the World Championship in an Olympic class has been a dream of mine ever since I sailed Optimists."
The 420 World Championship with Florian Krauss and Jannis Sümmchen – also an experienced Optimist sailor from Chiemsee (CYC) – is where their friendship began. "We won the gold medal in Oman and the 2021 420 Youth Sailing World Championships."
The Italian team took first place in the Team Race European Championship, followed by Poland and Spain in second and third place, respectively. Team Germany finished fifth.
Cup with SailGP: Felix van den Hövel was a guest at the Yacht Club Seeshaupt (YCSS) in his home waters on Lake Starnberg, the club where he first learned to sail in an Optimist dinghy. The YCSS had invited Felix to talk about himself and his sailing achievements, and especially about his current participation in the SailGP.
