Olympics, Championships and Cups

Tactical Sailing provides comprehensive coverage of the championships; here is an overview of the German participants.

The Optimist World Championship in Slovenia was a particularly memorable experience for Jonny Seekamp. He achieved 8th place – a fantastic result – among more than 200 international competitors. Jonny learned valuable tactical tips from Tactical Sailing. With focused and tactically sound races, he solidified his position among the world's elite. The Olympics in Marseille with Simon Diesch and Anna Markfort in the 470 class and in Tokyo with Tina Lutz and Sanni Beucke in the 49er class were major events. Luise Wanser and Philipp Autenrieth won the 470 World Championship in Israel after a dominant performance, securing the title a day before the final. Florian Krauss and Jannis Sümmchen won the gold medal at the 420 World Championship in Oman. The European Team Race champions finished the German Cup with SailGP in 5th place: Felix van den Hövel was a guest at the Yacht Club Seeshaupt (YCSS), the club where he first learned to sail in an Optimist dinghy.
